Local youth are crafting new business plans as the next generation of entrepreneurs takes shape in Truro this week thanks to the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development’s series of summer camps.
The newly-minted ‘Juniorpreneurs’ will selling their products/services to the community at the Truro Farmers Market on Aug. 16, before competing to pitch the best business ideas the following day.
CEED’s summer camp is stopping in Truro on Aug. 13-17 and is also being run in Kentville, Halifax and New Glasgow. CEED is receiving financial support from the Truro and Colchester Partnership for Economic Prosperity to cover the cost of multiple seats for campers.
The Juniorpreneur Camp teaches youth about entrepreneurship through workshops, local entrepreneur guest speakers and by guiding them to start their very own business and sell their products and/or services on a sale day.
Helping to run the Truro entrepreneur camp was Zolen Perry, a CEED graduate who launched his own business selling spice mixes at the Farmers Market.
