Truro athlete earns spot at nationals

TRURO - Truro's Michael Castein earned another gold medal recently and a trip to the national cadet biathlon championships next month in Quebec.
Castein nabbed gold in the junior male division 6 km sprint and shoot at the provincial biathlon championship in Brookvale, P.E.I.
Kaitlyn Castein won a bronze medal in the individual junior female sprint category.
Sisters Francis Castein (senior), Wendy Castein (senior) and Kaitlyn Castein (junior), placed third overall in the team competition.
The male team consisting of Colchester's Vernon Arndt (senior), Christian Roy (junior), and Michael Castein (junior) crossed the line second overall.
The athletes, members of the Truro Tigers Biathlon Club, will be competing for spots at nationals this weekend at the Atlantic Cup, also in Brookvale.
