TRURO - Cold weather is needed before the town can flood its three outdoor rinks.
"We're set, we're ready as soon as the consistent, cool weather arrives," said director
of parks, recreation and culture Doug MacKenzie.
"We'll be ready to go to get them up and operational as quickly as we can."
The town has set up the three outdoor rinks where they were located last year (the TAAC Grounds, Victoria Square and Victoria Park).
It might be January before the needed cold snap arrives.
The town needs about a week of consistently cold weather in order to flood the rinks and make ice.
The town started flooding an outdoor
rink at Victoria Square in 2003 and has expanded it to other locations with the popularity increasing.
