Mattatall in contention for Olympic spot

TRURO - A Wallace native's quest to qualify for the Vancouver Olympics comes down to today.
John Mattatall, 27, and his pairs partner Mylene Brodeur, of Stanbridge-Station, Que., finished fourth Friday during the short program at the 2010 BMP Canadian Figure Skating Championships in London, Ont. They scored 60.33 points while Annabelle Langlois and Cody Hall finished first with 65.47 points.
Former Olympians Jessica Dube and Bryce Davison came in second and Meagan Duhamel and Craig Buntin were third.
The free skate competition will be broadcast on CBC-TV at 2 p.m. today. The top two pairs will represent Canada at next month's Olympics.
