Bears win gold in New Glasgow

ONSLOW - The Central Colchester Bears continue to roll this season as they took the gold medal at a girls soccer tournament on the weekend at New Glasgow Junior High.
The Bears nipped the host school 1-0 in the final after going through the tournament with a perfect record. Alea Power scored the winner and April MacKay was named player of the game.
The Bears opened the event with a 2-0 win over Northumberland. MacKay and Chloe Lauther netted goals and Lauther was player of the game.
Central Colchester then edged New Glasgow 2-1 on goals from Taylor Lynds and Danielle Rath. Jillian Connors claimed player of the game honours.
In an all-Colchester showdown, the Bears slipped by the Bible Hill Huskies 2-1. Rath and Cassidy Langley scored the Bears' goals. The Bible Hill goal scorer was unavailable. Langley was player of the game. Madison Munro manned the Bears' net.
