CEC boys volleyball squad hosting tournament today, tomorrow

TRURO - The Cobequid Cougars boys volleyball team is looking to come away with gold at their home tournament.
The Cougar Invitational, which runs today and Saturday, features nine teams in two pools.
It is the second event of the season for the Cougars.
Coming to the Hubtown to compete against the Cougars in the blue pool are Citadel, Horton #2, West Kings and Westisle. Sackville, the three-time NSSAF provincial champions, Avon View, Horton #1 and Colonel Gray will duke it out in the orange pool.
The event kicks off today when the Cougars face Citadel.
The semifinals start at 3:45 p.m. Saturday with the final set for 5 p.m.
Cobequid finished fourth last weekend at the Three Oaks Invitational tournament in Summerside, going 2-3 with wins over Colonel Gray (25-13, 25-18) and Westisle #2 (25-15, 25-16) and losses to Three Oaks (23-25, 25-18, 13-15), Charlottetown Rural in the semifinals (22-25, 25-13, 01-15), and again to Three Oaks in the bronze medal match (17-25, 18-25).
The Cougars girls side is competing this weekend at a tournament in Bridgewater. The winners of the Three Oaks event are looking forward to their first meetings
with provincial contenders Horton and Bridgewater.
