BRENTWOOD - Nature lovers are encouraged to participate in a river restoration walk in the Little River area on Sept. 1.
"There's a lot of people who live along the river and we want to get the word to them," said Richard Huggard, of the Cobequd Salmon Association, which was involved in restoration of the river's habitat for salmon, trout and other aquatic species.
The walk and talk, which begins on that day at 10 a.m., is expected to last about an hour.
Participants are asked to meet at the bridge over Little River on Brentwood Road.
From Highway 189 at Brookfield, turn right on Forest Glen Road and then right on Brentwood Road (recognized by power poles along the road).
Waterproof boots (preferably hip waders) are required as a river crossing is included in the walk.
For more information, contact Huggard at 895-5905 or Robert Gunderson at 895-1907.
