Blaauwendraat near the top in superbike practice at AMP

NORTH SALEM - Brian Blaauwendraat stuck with the big boys Friday during practice for the Parts Canada Superbike Championship at Atlantic Motorsport Park.
Qualifying for Round 6 of the series is today with racing tomorrow.
Blaauwendraat, a 24-year-old Beaver Brook resident, posted the sixth-fastest time in the superbike class, lapping the 2.56 km layout in 1:09.306 on his Honda CBR600RR. He was 2.9 seconds behind the top time of factory Suzuki rider Brett McCormick (1:06.390). Series points leader Jordan Szoke was second at 1:07.973 on his factory Kawasaki ZX-10R.
Blaauwendraat was fourth quickest in pro sport bike Friday, crossing the line in 1:09.050. McCormick again topped the class at 1:07.652 while Szoke was second at 1:07.862.
