TRURO - It's an important weekend for a pair of Colchester County motorcycle racers.
Brian Blaauwendraat and Andrew Dunlap will be using this weekend's fourth round of the Atlantic Roadracing League at Atlantic Motorsport Park to fine-tune their machines for the Parts Canada Superbike Championship which visits the track Aug. 7 to 9.
Blaauwendraat currently has a stranglehold on both the pro superbike and pro 600 sport bike championships, having won all three sport bike events and all six superbike races on his Pro Cycle Honda CBR600RR. He has 303 points in superbike standings and 160 in sport bike.
Dunlap is third in superbike points with 192 on his Fundy Powersports Kawasaki ZX-10R and sits sixth in sport bike with 35.
Halifax's Todd Scott splits the Colchester riders on the superbike table with 214 points.
Blaauwendraat will be fielding questions with Suzuki's Brett McCormick and three-time defending Parts Canada series champion Jordan Szoke next Thursday at a media conference in Halifax to promote the national series' penultimate stop at AMP.
