TATAMAGOUCHE - Heavy, wet snow knocked out power in Tatamagouche, River John and New Annan for several hours Monday morning.
Margaret Murphy, spokeswoman for Nova Scotia Power, said about 109 North Shore homes lost power beginning around 4:30 a.m.
"The cause was trees or tree branches coming down on power lines as a result of heavy, wet snow," said Murphy.
Power was turned back on at most homes by about 1 p.m.
The snowstorm also knocked out power to more than 200 homes and businesses in Stellarton, as well as about 300 customers near Windsor and a number in the Metro area who all were back on the grid by about 1:15 p.m.
