Truro looks to take series lead tonight in Game 5 of Bent Division semifinal
TRURO – Home ice has not been an advantage thus far in the Truro Bearcats Bent Division semifinal with the Yarmouth Mariners.
The road team has won all four games in the best-of-seven series.
The Bearcats look to change that when they host the Mariners Sunday night in Game 5 with the series tied at two games apiece. Game time is 7 p.m. at Colchester Legion Stadium.
The Bearcats evened the series Saturday night with a 4-2 victory in Yarmouth with three of their four goals coming from their special teams. There were 1,484 fans at the Mariners Centre for the contest.
Jordan Mock and Travis Moore each scored a pair of goals. Both of Mock’s markers were scored shorthanded while one of Moore’s came on the power play.
Stephen Walker had a pair of assists while singles went to Dylan McGuigan and Jordan Burke.
Both teams went 1-for-9 with the man advantage.
Kirk Rafuse stopped 30 shots for the win while Charles Grant was tagged with the loss after giving up three goals on 17 shots through the first two periods before being replaced by Randy Chisholm.
Bearcats forward Stephen Horyl, the league's MVP this season, was not on the game sheet. He missed Game 3 with a reoccurring neck injury and head coach Shawn Evans told the Truro Daily News on Friday he would be a game-time decision for Saturday's contest.
The winner of the series will play Pictou County in the division final. The Crushers swept Bridgewater in their opening round series.
