TRURO - It's a battle of the titans, junior A style.
The Truro Bearcats (29-5-2-2), holders of the second-best record in the Maritime Junior A Hockey League, travel to Woodstock, N.B., to take on the Slammers, who at 37-2-0-1, own the best line in the 11-team circuit.
Game time is 7:30 p.m.
"Oh, we can't wait," said Bearcats defenceman Sam Caldwell. "It's going to be a big game between the two top teams in the league and it should be a fast paced, hard-hitting game."
The Slammers have taken both meetings between the two clubs so far this season, 4-3 in a shootout Nov. 7 in Truro, and 4-1 Nov. 27 in Woodstock. Caldwell said the Bearcats are looking to return the favour tonight.
"The first game we felt we outplayed them and the second game they deserved to win," he said. "So we would really like to get a win (tonight)."
Tonight's tilt will be the first of a pair of meetings between the two sides this week. The Slammers are scheduled to visit Colchester Legion Stadium Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Truro also travels to Yarmouth Friday
for a 7:30 p.m. date with the Mariners
