Cats player-coach shines on mound and at the dish leading team to victory

John Chapman did it all for the Bearcats on Tuesday night, leading the team on the mound and at the plate en route to a 7-1 victory over the Kentville Wildcats.

Chapman gave up a lone run in the third inning, en route to winning his third game of the season. At the dish, Chapman posted three singles, a double and drove in a pair of runs.

Doubles were the story for Truro's offense on Tuesday, as Jeff Chisholm knocked a pair and Ryan Bates, Darson Murphy and Chapman each hit one. All four players also posted RBIs in the win.

The Bearcats got the offense going early, with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first, a pair in the third, a single in the fourth, and another pair in the fifth, giving Chapman all the run support he'd need.

With the win, the Bearcats moved into third place, leapfrogging the Sydney Sooners.

Truro will be in action again on Sunday night, as they face off with the Halifax Pelham Molson Canadians at 7:30 p.m. in Halifax. The two teams will face off again in Halifax on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.
