Hubcraft, Northumberland Silos split opening games of men's slo-pitch league

TRURO - Nick Redden had a pair of home runs and drove in five runs to lead Hubcraft to a 26-21 victory over the Northumberland Silos Thursday in Bud Light Men's Slo-Pitch League action.

Greg Kuhn also had a good game for the winners going 4-for-4 with three runs while Jim Hanlon and Kristian Dexter were strong in a losing effort for the Silos.

The Silos won the opening game of the doubleheader 18-8 with Dean Angers and Phil Smith leading the way.

Colin Henley had three hits, including a pair of home runs, and drove in five in the victory while Daniel Hancock went 2-for-2 and scored twice.

The six-team league plays at the Stadium ball field with last week being the first games of the season.

Print Plus Design/Stonehouse Motel swept both games from Blaikies Collision Centre while Iceman Air Conditioning swept the Bud Light Diamond Doggs.

Hubcraft plays The Diamond Doggs tonight with games at 6:45 and 8 p.m.
