Elks finish regular season with overtime loss to Penguins

LANTZ - The Brookfield Elks suffered a 6-5 shootout loss to the East Hants Penguins recently to end their Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League regular season schedule.
The Elks finish the season in second in the Fred Fox Division with 41 points and a 17-10-6-1 record, 12 points behind the Bay Ducks (26-6-1-0).
Jimmy Scullion and Coady Read both scored twice for Brookfield with Ike Burgess getting the other. Catlin Staples collected three assists and Josh Taylor had two while single helpers came from Chris Armsworthy and Lucas Dawe.
Randy Gilbert netted the winner. Matt Anthony (2), Shane Piercey (2), Chris Pongoski and Justin Campbell also scored for East Hants.
