Wheelchair basketball on display at NSCC

TRURO - Some of the Maritime Province's most talented wheelchair basketball players will be in Truro this weekend for two exhibition games and an opportunity for members of the public to try the sport.

Team Nova Scotia will take on the Maritime All-Stars at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the NSCC's Wellness Centre.

High school basketball teams from Cobequid Educational Centre and South Colchester Academy will have their turn to take on Team Nova Scotia at 2 p.m.

After the games wrap up, everyone will have a chance to try wheelchair basketball at 3 p.m., with instruction by Joel Goswell, a member of Team Nova Scotia and a Canada Games athlete.

All events are free to the public and are hosted jointly by Bible Hill Parks and Recreation, Colchester Recreation Services, and Truro Parks, Recreation and Culture.
