DARTMOUTH – After having two straight games cut short of nine innings, the Truro Bearcats senior team made up for lost time on Thursday night.
The league-leading Dartmouth Moosehead Dry handed the Cats their second consecutive loss in the 10th inning of a tight 4-3 game.
Dan Comeau would lead the way for the Dry, knocking three singles and driving in three runs, including a walk-off RBI in the 10th. Chris Gallivan had a double and two singles, while Mark Phillips, Chris Head and Matt Harding each had pairs of hits.
For the Bearcats, Mike Tobin had a pair of singles, while John Chapman and Darson Murphy had singles and batted in runs.
Chapman came on in the seventh inning in relief of Guy Pellerine and was saddled with the loss. Jeff Reeves picked up the win for the Dry, amidst a full arsenal of pitchers that took the mound. Reeves was one of three pitchers used in the ninth inning, and one of seven pitchers the Dry used on the evening.
Truro will next be in action Sunday on the road against the Halifax Pelham Molson Canadians, with action getting underway at 1 p.m. The Cats will return home on Tuesday to face the Dry at TAAC grounds at 7:30 p.m.
