Thurbide carries hot stick for Leafs in semifinal victory

SALMON RIVER - Cole Thurbide sniped four goals to power the Leafs to a 6-2 victory over the Canadians on Monday in a Truro and Area Ball Hockey League novice division semifinal game.

The Leafs will meet the Sharks in Tuesday's final at Deuville's Rink at 6 p.m. The Sharks have a double life. A second championship game, if needed, will be played next Monday, also at 6 p.m.

Seth MacPherson and Isaac Crowe scored other goals for the Leafs in the semifinal, while R.J. Toney, Connor Whooten and Crowe had assists.

Callum McClellan netted both goals for the Canadians and Nathan MacKenzie assisted on the markers.
