KENTVILLE - A five-run eighth inning propelled the Truro Bearcats to an 11-10 win over the Kentville Wildcats in the Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League on Sunday.
It was the fourth straight win for the Bearcats, who improved their record to 8-6. Truro is third in the standings, five games behind the league-leading Dartmouth Moosehead Dry and just a half-game back of the second-place Halifax Canadians.
Darson Murphy, Dan Bates and John Chapman led the Bearcats on Sunday, each swatting three singles and driving in two runs, while Jeff Chisholm homered.
Codey Shrider led the Kentville offense with two singles, a double, home run and two RBI. John Ansara added three hits and two RBI and Mike Lockhart also had three hits and drove in a run.
Josh Fushtey, in relief of Brandon Malally, was the winning pitcher and John Chapman earned the save.
