DUMFRIES, Scotland - Truro's Colleen Pinkney improved to 2-0 at the world women's senior curling championship on Friday after a 7-2 victory in six ends over Italy's Fiona Simpson.

Pinkney, third Wendy Currie, second Shelley MacNutt and lead Susan Creelman return to action today against Finland.

The Truro foursome blew open a close game against Italy by scoring five in the fifth end for a 7-1 lead.

Pinkney, the 2010 world champion, opened the event with a 9-2 triumph over Christine Cannon of host Scotland on Thursday.
