TRURO - The Truro Bearcats will be watching closely tonight the battle between two of their most bitter rivals - if it happens that is.
The Bearcats are awaiting a winner in the Maritime Junior Hockey League's EastLink Division semifinal between the Pictou County Crushers and Amherst Ramblers as the two teams face off in Game 6 at 7 p.m. in Amherst, weather permitting.
The league is expected to make a decision on whether the game will go ahead this morning.
Pictou County leads the best-of-seven series 3-2 and a win tonight would send them to the division final against the Bearcats.
If tonight's contest is postponed, Game 6 will be pushed to Friday night while Game 7, if needed, will be Saturday in New Glasgow meaning the start of the division final, which was slated for Saturday at RECC, will also be pushed back.
The Bearcats, who finished first overall in the 11-team league in the regular season, completed a sweep of the Valley Wildcats in their division semifinal on Saturday with a 5-0 win in Kentville.
