TRURO – Truro Bearcats defenceman Daniel Poliziani has been recognized for his stellar play on the blueline this season.

Truro Bearcats defenceman Daniel Poliziani has been named to the MHL all-star team.

Poliziani, Bearcats assistant captain, was named to the Maritime Hockey League all-star team on Wednesday. He is the lone player from the Eastlink Division on the team.

Other all-stars are Clint Windsor, G (Miramichi), Trey Lewis, D (Miramichi), Jake Wright, LW (Woodstock), Bryce Milson, C (Miramichi) and Rankyn Campbell, RW (Miramichi).

Poliziani, who came to the Bearcats last summer, had 13 goals and 48 points and played in all 52 regular season games for the Bearcats. 

The five-foot-eight, 174-pound Burlington, Ont., native played two seasons of major junior hockey in the OHL with the Guelph Storm before coming to Truro.

The Bearcats open their Eastlink Division best-of-seven semifinal series against the Valley Wildcats on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre.
