Hawks chalk up pair of wins in women's hockey league

BROOKFIELD - The Hubcraft Tim-Br Mart Hawks came up with a pair of wins in their most recent tilts in the Nova Scotia Women's Hockey League.

The Hawks topped the Brookfield Pro Cresting Elks 5-3 after defeating the Halifax mariners 5-2.

Rachel Kinch and Monique Gallant both scored twice for the Hawks against Brookfield while Heather Fraser also scored. Heidi Cooke recorded three assists with Kinch and Kelsey Brown each claiming two.

Kathy Dean, Holly Dean and Terri Ferguson answered for Brookfield. Holly and Kathy also added assists.

Against Halifax, Rachel deVries led the hawks with a hat trick, completing the feat on a penalty shot. Fraser and Marion Esau also scored. Stacey Webb chipped in two assists and Esau had one.
