WENTWORTH - The Cobequid Cougars recently stamped their dominance on the regional downhill ski scene by claiming three banners.

The Cougars snatched the senior boys, senior girls and intermediate girls divisions at the Northumberland region championships at Ski Wentowrth.
The senior boys - Ben Rogers, Kegan McLean, Aidan Roy, Patrick Smith, Andrew Murphy, Sean Mekers - finished ahead of the Northumberland Nighthawks and North Nova Gryphons for the title.
The senior girls - Abby MacGillivary, Natalie Cudmore, Sarah Ward, Jaclyn McClelland, Florence Small - topped the Gryphons and Nighthawks.
The intermediate girls squad - Leigha Henderson, Judith LaPierre, Kaitlyn Murphy, Morgan Macumber, Nicole Giddens - finished ahead of the North Nova entry.
Individualy, Roy won the regional title in 1:34.71 over McLean (1:41.44) and Murphy (1:46.04).
Cudmore topped the senior girls standings in 1:44.84 while McClelland (1:55.55) was third.
Cobequid's Austin MacCoul won the intermediate boys division in 1:58.93 while teammate Brody Morrisey was second.
Henderson topped the intermediate girls time sheet in 1:41.03.
