Commercial league semifinals set to go

DEBERT - Carstar Collision, Hub Well Drilling and the Gutter Done Thunder all recently advanced to the semifinal of the Labatt West Colchester Commercial Hockey League playoffs.

Gutter Done and Hub Well Drilling opened their best-of-five series Tuesday while Carstar Collision meets Soft Touch Car wash in the other semifinal on Thursday.

Carstar completed a three-game sweep of the Mackenzie's Towing Flames with a 5-1 victory. Shane Holman scored a pair of goal while others came from Chris Forbes, Brad Fisher and John Blaauwendraat. Tony Faulkner was the winning goaltender.

Spencer Cox netted the lone MacKenzie's Towing tally.

Hub Well Drilling clinched a 3-1 series win over McLellan's Machine Shop with a 4-2 triumph. Catlin Staples scored twice Brandon O'Brien and Lucas Cavanaugh notching single markers. Chris O'Connell was the winning netminder.

Adam Archibald and Andrew Lynds responded for McLellan's.

Gutter Done advanced with a 7-2 victory over Halliday's Flooring, giving them a 3-1 series win. Josh Kennedy and Kevin LeBlanc each scored twice for Gutter Done with single markers coming from Chris Moore, Will Cole and Mike McCallum. Kelly Hirtle was credited with the win.

Answering for Halliday's were Mike Ridley and Jacob Beaton.
