Carstar Collision, Hub Well Drilling look to advance in commercial league playoffs

DEBERT - Carstar Collision looks to eliminate the Mackenzie's Towing Flames when they meet Thursday in their Labatt West Colchester Commercial Hockey League playoff series.

The Flames battle for their playoff lives in Game 3 of the best-of-five series at 8 p.m. at West Colchester United Arena.

Carstar used a 5-3 victory in Game 2 to take a 2-0 stranglehold on the series. John Blaauwendraat notched a hat trick while Aaron Taylor added a pair of goals.

Chad McLellan, Jason Reddick and Paul McKenna answered for MacKenzie's.

Carstar nipped MacKenzie's 5-4 in Game 1.

Hub Well Drilling, which holds a 2-0 series lead over McLellan's Machine Shop, can also advance with a Thursday victory.

The well drilling squad won Game 2 with a 1-0 decision thanks to a goal from Mark Simms. Devin Thompson picked up the assist.

Hub Well Drilling got the series started with a 4-2 victory in Game 1.

In other playoff action, The Gutter Done Thunder hold a 1-0 series lead over Halliday's Flooring with a 7-5 triumph. Jason Blois scored a pair of goals with others coming from Josh Kennedy, Chris Moore, Will Cole, Brad Richey and Pat Stewart.

Replying for Halliday's were Jacob Beaton, Chris Scott, Travis Moore, Jon Gould and Paul Langille.
