#97 Brandon Boutilier
Hatchett Cove, NS
5'10, 170 lbs.
Brandon Boutilier is this week's Bearcat-of-the-week.
Last Friday he picked up his first goal on RECC ice but, more importantly, he's displaying his versatility, playing left wing or center, and consistently being a difficult Bearcat to play against. Since joining Truro at January trade deadline he's been a valued contributor in all aspects of the game.
He got his hockey start in the TASA Mighty Ducks program working his way through the ranks to the major midget level where he suited up with the Halifax McDonalds/Titans for a two-year stint.
A 2010 pick by the Pictou County Crushers, he played the 2010-11 season and was traded to the Metro Shipbuilders midway through the next year. Injury cut short that season and some of last year's as well.
He got a fresh start this year in Valley and served as the Wildcats' captain until traded to the Bearcats. He, Jacob Smith and Brandon Bazinet have combined to be an explosive offensive force.
This year the powerplay partnership has earned $4,900 which is distributed to local charities. Over the last 12 years, $56,200 has been spread through the community. Great job.
Once the regular season is over and the playoff schedule is announced, season ticket holders wishing to retain their seats for playoff action will be required to present their season pass and seat card at the RECC ticket booth when purchasing playoff tickets, and, you're encouraged to get them in advance when the postseason begins.
Saturday, the Bearcats host the Yarmouth Mariners. The game gets underway at 7 p.m. at the RECC.
Sunday, at 2 p.m., the Valley Wildcats are in town. The game has been designated Fan Appreciation Day and all tickets are $5.
