HALIFAX - Truro's Peter Burgess is still searching for his first win at the Nova Scotia men's curling championship.
Burgess dropped a pair of games on Thursday to fall to 0-4 at the eight-team event at Halifax Curling Club.
The Truro foursome, which also consists of third Craig Burgess, second Jared Bent and lead Todd Burgess, faced Mayflower's Mark Kehoe on Thursday evening (visit trurodaily.com for result).
Burgess lost 7-4 on Thursday morning to defending champion Ian Fitzner-Leblanc of Lakeshore, and fell 11-5 in nine ends to Mayflower's Chad Stevens in the afternoon draw.
Burgess returns to The ice today against Lakeshore's Jamie Murphy, the 2012 Tankard champ, at 9 a.m. before a 7 p.m. match against Mayflower's John Luckhurst to close out round-robin play.
Murphy (4-1) and Mayflower's Mark Dacey (4-0) sat atop the standings heading into Thursday's late draw.
