Rams fall to Mounties, top Tommies in college women's volleyball

BIBLE HILL - The Dalhousie Rams were nipped 3-2 by the Mount Allison Mounties in ACAA women's volleyball Sunday in Sackville, N.B.

Dalhousie was topped 19-25, 25-19, 25-19, 23-25, 14-16 to fall to 8-6 this season. The Rams sit third in the conference, two points behind the Mounties (9-4).

The loss came a day after the Rams defeated the St. Thomas Tommies (6-8).

On Sunday, Thea McLachlin paced the Rams with 19 kills and 16 digs, leading the team in both categories. Samantha Fanning recorded 17 kills and four digs, while Brianna Sinclair made 13 digs. Fenna Van Noort chalked up seven aces.

Georgia Sibold led Mount Allison with 16 kills and Erica Cronkhite made 18 digs.

McLachlin claimed 16 kills against St. Thomas and added seven digs. Faning had 14 kills and seven digs while Sinclair dug 10 balls. Rachel Hughes had five aces.

Chelsea Bringloe had 11 kills and 13 digs for the Tommies.

The Rams host the Holland College Hurricanes Saturday at 7 p.m. at Langille Athletic Centre.
