TRURO - It didn't take long for Chris Festarini to make his mark with the Truro Bearcats.
The 20-year-old goaltender, acquired at the Jan. 10 trade deadline from the OHL's Niagara Ice Dogs, has been named the Maritime Junior Hockey League's second star for the week.
Festarini, an Oakville, Ont., native, won his first two starts in a Bearcats uniform on the weekend, backstopping Truro to a 4-2 win over the Amherst Ramblers Sunday and a 5-2 victory Saturday over the Pictou County Crushers. The victory against Amherst halted a 9-game Ramblers win streak.
Festarini, six-foot-2, 191 pounds, now holds a 2.00 goals-against average and .934 save percentage after stopping 57 of the 61 shots he's faced in the MHL.
Riley Craft of the Woodstock Slammers took home the first-star honour while Alex Bradley of the Summerside Western Capitals was third star.
