Rolling Phones Bearcats storm through midget A competition

TRURO - The Truro Rolling Phones Bearcats won their most recent pair of midget A hockey contests.

The Bearcats handed the Brookfield Elks a 12-1 loss after turning aside the South Shore Ice Sharks 6-4.

Isaac Culgin and Caelan Blaikie both scored hat tricks against Brookfield while Bryson Crowell notched a pair of goals and single tallies came from Jacob Dillon, Brandon Bolger, Ryan Porter and Ryan Bakker. Bryson Crowell (2), Matt Crowell (2), Caleb Coulson (2), Nick Graham (2), Dillon (2), Ryan Porter, Coleman Porter Blaikie, Bakker and Bolger all recorded assists. Nathan Hurlburt made 20 saves for the victory.

Alex Rhoddy answered for Brookfield's lone goal with help from Chad Bruce.

Coulson pumped in three goals to lead Truro against South Shore while Blaikie, Ryan Porter and Matt Crowell rounded out the scoring. Bolger supplied three assists, Bryson Crowell had two and Blaikie added one. Brandon Archibald was the winning netminder.

The Bearcats are back in action Saturday at 1 p.m. when they host the Tatamagouche Titans in their provincial playdown opener at RECC.
