Cougars exit Dartmouth hockey tourney in semifinal round

TRURO - The Cobequid Cougars were eliminated in the semifinal round of the recent City Of Lakes high school boys hockey tournament in Dartmouth.

The Cougars were knocked out with a 3-0 loss to the Lockview Dragons after posting a pair of wins and a tie in the round robin.

The Cougars breezed past the Barrington Barons 6-1 in their final round-robin tilt. Austin Wheeler scored a pair of goals while others came from Quinn Fullerton, Bradley Gallant, Brady Meech and Brady Davis. Ben Porter recorded three assists, while Erhan Hume and Matt Liang each had two.

Cobequid also nipped the Kennebecasis Valley Crusaders2-1. Meech and Mitchell LeBlanc provided the goal-scoring and Sebastien Gibson was the winning netminder.

The Cougars opened the event with a 2-2 tie with the J.L. Ilsley Judges. Goals came from Cole Allaby and Meech and Gibson helped preserve the draw and was named to the tournament all-star team.
