NEW GLASGOW - Pictou County split it's pair of weekend contests in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League.

Pictou County Weeks

Pictou County (10-20-1-0) nipped the Cape Breton Tradesmen (4-19-0-2) 3-2 Sunday after falling 4-1 Saturday to the Cole Harbour Wolfpack.

The results place Pictou County in fifth in the eight-team league, just one point clear of the South Shore Mustangs (10-19-0-0).

On Sunday, Bible Hill's Lucas Holman notched a goal and an assist while Lane Cormier and Mark Vokey also scored. Matthew Williams made 23 saves for the victory.

On Saturday, Cody Johnston was the lone goal-scorer and Truro's Luke Melanson made 31 saves in the Pictou County crease.

The team is back in action Jan. 18 and 19 when it takes on the Newbridge Gladiators (18-7-2-1) in a home-and-home series.

Truro's Noah Archibald, Matthieu Fougere, Lucas Rushton and Michael Stuart are also members of the team.
