WOLFVILLE - A Jordan Mock tally couldn't lift his Guelph Gryphons past the Acadia Axemen Tuesday in their university men's hockey exhibition tilt in Wolfville.
Mock, a former member of the Truro Bearcats junior A club, scored a goal as the Gryphons fell 3-2.
Mock, a six-foot, 190-pound forward, skated with the Bearcats from 2009-10 to 2011-12 and led the team in scoring in his final season with 53 points (22G, 31A) in 50 games.
The 22-year-old, in his second season at Guelph, had a homecoming of sorts on Monday as his Gryphons stopped in Truro to take on the Saint Mary's Huskies. Guelph won the game at RECC 3-2.
Former Bearcats defenceman Nick Trecapelli is also a member of the Gryphons. He suited up with Truro for the 2011-12 season and finished second to Mock in team scoring with 39 points (17G, 22A) in 47 games.
