NEW GLASGOW - Pictou County is on a roll in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League.
Pictou County (9-19-1-0) posted its third consecutive win Sunday with a 6-2 victory over the Cape Breton Tradesmen (4-18-0-2). Pictou County also defeated the Cape Breton West Islanders 5-2 on Friday.
The results leapfrog Pictou County over the Islanders (7-17-2-0) and into sixth place in the eight-team league. The team takes on the league-leading Cole Harbour Wolfpack (21-2-1-0) Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Cole Harbour.
Truro's Michael Stuart scored against the Tradesmen while Bible Hill's Lucas Holman recorded a pair of assists and Noah Archibald, also of Truro, added a single helper. The team got other goals from Cody Johnston (2), Mark Vokey, Matt Sartoris and Evan MacLennan.
Against the Islanders, Stuart scored and Truro's Luke Melanson made 33 saves. Other Pictou tallies came from Vokey (2) and Johnston (2).
Truro's Matthieu Fougere and Lucas Rushton are also members of the team.
