BIBLE HILL – Truro Raceway has cancelled Sunday’s live harness racing card at the Bible Hill oval.

The decision was made due to unsafe track conditions and lack of horses entered.
“I think the reason probably why we didn’t get the horses was because of the weather and the track, so it’s just one of those things,” said Roger MacCallum, general manger of the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition, which runs the raceway. “We were hoping to get it in.”
Sunday’s card was scheduled to be the final race event of the 2013 season after two previous attempts to hold the card were also thwarted by Mother Nature.
The card won’t be rescheduled, and the track will take a break from live harness racing during the winter months.
“Mother Nature’s told us it’s done,” MacCallum said.
Live racing will resume at Truro Raceway in the spring.
