BIBLE HILL - There will be no Boxing Day harness racing at Truro Raceway after all.

The Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Commission, which operates the half-mile oval in Bible Hill, announced Monday the final race card of 2013 is scheduled to be held Sunday instead. Post time is 1 p.m.

Horsemen had placed a request with pari-mutuel authorities in Montreal to hold a Boxing Day card after Saturday's draw, which was to be the last of the year, was cancelled due to icy track conditions. The request was turned down.

The event was shifted to Saturday from its originally scheduled Sunday date to avoid a forecasted storm.

There has been no racing at the track since Dec. 8 after the penultimate card of the year, slated for Dec. 15, was also cancelled due to stormy conditions.

The starters for Sunday's lineup will be drawn later this week.
