AMHERST - The Truro Bearcats mauled the Amherst Ramblers on the road Saturday, 7-1.

Members of the Truro Bearcats react to losing their shutout bid Saturday night at Amherst Stadium. Nick Cass's goal at 18:29 of the third period (assisted by Ryan Caswell) was the lone bright spot for the Ramblers and their fans. Final score: Truro 7 Amherst 1.
Daniel Perigo led the Bearcats with two goals while Daniel Poliziani added a goal and an assist.
Perigo opened the scoring at 7:44 to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead. Jacob Smith scored the game winning goal on a powerplay at 11:50 to extend the lead to 2-0. Poliziani scored a powerplay goal at 1:08 to increase the lead to 3-0.
Perigo's second of the game came at 8:20 to widen the lead to 4-0. Brandon Bazinet scored at 14:14 to make the score 5-0 after the second period.
Kyle Tibbo scored on the powerplay at 13:38 to extend the lead to 6-0. Jean-Marc Evans-Renaud scored at 14:40 to increase the lead to 7-0. Nick Cass scored at 19:25 to end the shutout bid by Fancy.
Truro went three for four on the powerplay while Amherst was goalless on five.
Jacob Fancy stopped 31 of 32 shots for the win while Billy Clarke stopped 33 of 40 shots in the loss.
