TRURO - It's been a big week for the Truro Rolling Phones Bearcats.
The Truro Rolling Phones Bearcats recently hosted a fundraising breakfast with Santa in the upstairs portion of Colchester Legion Stadium. More than 200 people attended the event to have some breakfast, chat with Santa and have their photo taken with the jolly old elf. The team thanks Scotsburn, Tim Horton's Giant Tiger and TRA Cash & Carry for donations. The midget A hockey team won it's three most recent contests and got to have breakfast with Santa Claus. The Bearcats defeated the Pictou County Maripacs 5-1 after hammering the Westville Miners 13-3. Truro opened the set with a 6-2 victory over the Eastern Shore Mariners. The team also hosted a breakfast with Santa fundraiser at Colchester Legion Stadium on Saturday which saw more than 200 people have some pancakes and bacon, chat with Santa and have their photo taken with him.
Scoring by committee helped the Bearcats beat Pictou County with Bryson Crowell, Jacob Dillon, Matt Crowell, Justin Zachariah and Josh Gamblin all notching goals. Caelan Blaikie chipped in three assists and Brandon Archibald backstopped his team in the crease.
Taylor Daigle collected four goals against Westville while Bolger and Jacob Dillon each scored twice. Single markers came from Bryson Crowell, Matt Crowell, Coleman Porter, Blaikie and Zachariah.
Bolger racked up four assists while Daigle, Zachariah, Dillon and Porter each added two. Nathan Hurlburt picked up the win between the pipes.
Hurlburt was also in the net for the win over Eastern Shore and got goal support from Matt Crowell, Ryan Bakker, Isaac Culgin, Bolger, Zachariah and Blaikie. Bakker added a pair of helpers.
