Rams fall to Mystics in college hoops

TRURO - The Dalhousie Rams men and women were both handed lopsided losses by the Mount St. Vincent Mystics Wednesday in ACAA basketball.

The Rams men were defeated 96-52 while the women were defeated 100-32.

The Rams (0-5) remain winless in men's division and sit last among eight teams, just two points behind both the St. Thomas Tommies (1-2)and Kings Blue Devils (1-3).

On the women's side, the loss holds the Rams (1-4) in sixth among eight teams, just two points behind the Mount Allison Mounties.

Both Marcus MacLean and Elsemore scored 13 points for the Rams men while Cody Locke collected nine and Marcus Robinson had eight.

Mac Ellis powered the Mystics with 15.

Hayley Wilson paced the Rams women with 13 points while Hillary Hopper netted 10 and Candace Reynolds drained seven.

Kelsey Clory scored a game-high 21 for the Mystics, who built a 28-5 cushion in the first quarter.

Both Rams teams wrap up their pre-Christmas schedule this weekend. On Saturday the Rams host the Saint John Seawolves with the men battling at 4 p.m. and the women at 2 p.m. before the Mounties visit Sunday. The men meet at 4:30 p.m. and the women at 2:30 p.m.
