TRURO – Pictou County dropped both of its weekend matchups with the South Shore Mustangs in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League.
Pictou County was upended 4-1 on Sunday after suffering a 3-2 setback Saturday.
The results leave Pictou County (2-13-0-0) at the bottom of the eight-team league, four points adrift of the Cape Breton Tradesmen (3-8-0-2). South Shore (7-8-0-0) occupies fourth spot.
Truro’s Noah Archibald had the team’s only goal on Sunday while Luke Melanson, who also lives in Truro, made 38 saves in the crease.
On Saturday, Truro’s Michael Stuart and Cody Johnston did the scoring. Matthew Williams turned aside 26 shots.
Truro’s Matthieu Fougere and Lucas Rushton, Valley’s Aaron Coleman and Lucas Holman of Bible Hill are also members of the team.
Pictou County is back in action Saturday when it travels to Cole Harbour to open a home-and-home set with the Wolfpack at 7:30 p.m.
