BROOKFIELD – The Brookfield Elks suffered 5-4 loss in overtime to the Bay Ducks Saturday in St. Margaret’s Bay in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.
The loss keeps the Elks (2-7-0-1) in last in the six-team Dref Dox Division, just two points behind the Eastern Shore Mariners (3-5-1-0). The Ducks (6-2-0-0) sit in second spot.
Brookfield is back in action Tuesday when it hosts the Antigonish Bulldogs (3-4-0-0) at 7:30 p.m. at Don Henderson Memorial Sportsplex.
Joshua Clark scored the winner 1:18 into the extra period.
Zach Bates scored a pair of goals for the Elks while Connor Hirtle and Ian O’Brien netted single markers. Bates also had an assist.
Brandon Archibald made 40 saves in the Brookfield crease.
Clark also scored in regulation, while Devin Tivey also scored twice for the Ducks, who got a single tally from Sam Pasich and 22 saves from Jacob Dempsey.
