TRURO - Tyler Morrison lead the Truro Bearcats with one goal and two assists as they defeated the CIBC Wood Gundy Lumberjacks, 5-2, here on Saturday.
The win brings the Bearcats' record to 8-3-0-1.
Mitchell Robillard opened the scoring on a powerplay less than five minutes into the game in front of 534 fans.
The Bearcats took a 3-0 lead with goals coming from Jordan McNaughton and Tyler Morrison more than halfway into the second.
The Lumberjacks cut the lead to two with a goal from Campbell Pickard to end the second period.
Pickard picked up his second of the night just over a minute into the third, but it was Jacob Smith and Phillip Fife to respond for the Bearcats.
Jacob Fancy stopped 23 of 25 shots for the win, while Billy Clarke stopped 24 of 19 shots in the loss.
The Bearcats next play on Friday when they travel to Kentville to take on the Valley Jr. A Wildcats.
