TRURO – Halifax City got off to a strong start at the Under-18 Cup Canadian Soccer Championship Thursday in St. John’s Nfld.
The team, which includes Lower Harmony’s Charlie Hunter, blanked Alberta 3-0 in its first game of the tournament, which continues until Monday.
Alexander Chan, Cooper Coates and Rory McParland did the scoring for the Nova Scotia champions.
Hunter, an 18-year-old midfielder and captain of the team, received a yellow card in the match.
City is back in action today at 2:30 p.m. local time against Manitoba (0-1) which lost 3-0 to the hosts on Wednesday.
