TRURO – The Truro Bearcats suffered a pair of setbacks in their most recent set of Nova Scotia major bantam Hockey League contests.
The Bearcats were nipped 4-3 by the Scotsburn Crushers after getting doubled 4-2 by the Dartmouth Whalers.
The Bearcats (1-5-2) sit in a tie for 10th in the 12-team league with Cole Harbour (1-5-2).
Cameron Patton collected all three Truro goals against Scotsburn while ben Higgins picked up three assists. Reuben MacKenzie, Connor Miller and Luke Smith also had helpers and Alec macDonald made 27 saves in the net.
Against Dartmouth, Matthew Smith and Allaby did the Truro scoring while Jack Lynds made 33 saves in the crease. Carson Lanceleve recorded the lone Truro assist.
The Bearcats are back in action Oct. 19 when they host the Cole Harbour Storm at 4 p.m. at RECC.
