Mitchell Robillard has been named Bearcat of the week.
The Bearcat-of-week honour goes to second year forward Mitchell Robillard.
In last Saturday's 4-1 win over Miramichi, he scored the game's opening goal and assisted on one other. In both weekend games, his relentless work along the boards, regardless of the situation, was obvious.
Playing equally well on left-wing or at center, he was a Bearcat leader.
Robillard got his hockey start in the Laval minor program in Montreal and worked his way through the ranks to the end of midget when he was an invite to the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
He made the QMJHL team and played 33 games of the 2010-2011 season. In 2011-2012 he was a high-end scorer with the St. Leonard Arctic (junior A). He started last year with the Arctic and moved up to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada before coming East to be a Bearcat and have a run at the Fred Page Cup. He provided solid depth.
This year he's one of the Bearcats' assistant captains.
Tonight, the Bearcats are in Woodstock to face the talented Slammers.
Saturday, at 7 p.m., the Bearcats play their home opener at the RECC. Amherst will be in town to provide the competition.
Sunday, the Valley Wildcats make their first visit to the RECC. That game gets underway at 2 p.m.
