SYDNEY — The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles will have a slate of activities on tap for their home opener on Sept. 20 at Centre 200 against the Charlottetown Islanders.From 6-6:30 p.m., fans can get their photo taken with Screech at the team’s photo booth in the west concourse. A picture will be chosen as the picture of the game and will be featured on Screaming Eagles social media. Jokers Wild will also be set up in the west concourse, with face painting and balloon animals. Members of the Cape Breton Dance Collective will also be on hand to greet fans and get everyone moving in their seats.
The theme for the opening game is Black Out, and fans are encouraged to wear black to the game. The team’s new fan T-shirt will be available for $10 at the promotions table in the main concourse.
The club will honour Screaming Eagles forward Clark Bishop in a pre-game ceremony. Bishop helped Team Canada to gold at the 2013 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Tournament this summer.
A post-game concert by Membertou’s Black & Grey will be held at the Centre 200 main concourse. Admission is for those 19 and over only and is included with the purchase of a game ticket.
