TRURO - The Truro Bearcats earned a pair of wins and suffered a loss to conclude their midget AA baseball season.
The Bearcats swept a doubleheader from the Pictou Rangers, before a loss to the Pictou Orioles.
In Game 1 against the Rangers, Kiren MacGillvary and Jared Adams each stroked to hits in a 6-5 Truro win.
Matt Hingley, Kyle Irwin and Lucas Rushton had other hits for the Bearcats, while Cameron MacKenzie pitched a complete game victory.
In Game 2, the Bearcats flexed their muscle and rolled to a 12-0 triumph.
Truro scored five runs in the first inning and added four in the second to put the contest out of reach early.
Nic Morrow spun a one hitter and led the charge offensively with three hits, including a solo home run. Adams, Hingley and Irwin each added two hits and MacKenzie, Raine Murray, Caleb Kaiser and Alex Peters had one each.
In their season finale, the Bearcats lost 7-3 to the Orioles. Pictou scored four times in the final inning to break open a close game.
Adams led the Bearcats at the plate with two hits, while Morrow, Murray and Blake Tibbitts had one each.
MacKenzie had another strong outing on the mound and was relived by Morrow in the sixth.
The Bearcats finished the season with a record of 9-7-1 for second place in the regular season.
