TRURO – Dylan Blenkhorn tightened his grip on the Maritime Pro Stock Tour’s rookie of the year title Saturday with a fourth-place finish in the Lucas Oil 100 at Riverside International Speedway.

The 18-year-old Brookside resident and his Blenkhorn’s Auto Recyclers Impala now hold a 44-point cushion over Cole Butcher of Porter’s Lake heading into the final race of the season this weekend at Scotia Speedworld.

Blenkhorn took home the rookie of the race and hard charger awards.

Fredericton’s Shawn Tucker won the event and pulled away from defending champion Shawn Turple, of Enfield, whose crew chief is East Mountain’s Steve Henderson, in the battle for second in the points standings.  John Flemming, of Halifax, leads the way by 49 points over Tucker.

Donald Chisholm was second at Riverside while Darren MacKinnon rounded out the podium.

Way to go Dylan! I was at the race and all I can say is "You drove it like you stole it" !!! Too bad for that last caution as you had third locked up! Good luck at Scotia.
