TRURO – Bad luck has bitten the Truro MU Rhino Renovations Bearcats yet again at the Atlantic minor midget AAA hockey championship.

The Bearcats hopes for a gold medal took a series blow Friday in a 2-1 overtime loss to the P.E.I. champion Pownal Red Devils in front of about 200 fans at Colchester Legion Stadium.

Truro held a 1-0 lead with 30 seconds remaining in the game.

The Bearcats (0-2) must win their final two round-robin tilts to keep their slim gold-medal hopes alive.

Truro takes on the Newfoundland champion Northern Huskies tonight at 7 p.m.
